My Story: From Wounded and Broken to Balanced and Whole

Hey y’all, I’m Elee — the heart behind Lovelee Wellness.

At 17, a car accident shattered my body and changed the course of my life. More than 20 broken bones, a collapsed lung, and a long road of surgeries and recovery left me deeply grateful for western medicine — it pieced me back together. But as the months and years went on, I learned something important: being “fixed” didn’t mean I felt whole. My body worked.. -ish, but I didn’t feel at home in it. I carried pain, inflammation, postural challenges, emotional weight, and a deep sense of disconnection. That was the beginning of a long journey — one of seeking, experimenting, and discovering what it really means to heal.

In 2006, I found yoga, and for the first time since my accident, I felt like I could breathe inside my own skin and more with more ease. That spark turned into a lifelong passion for practice. I later studied a specific style of Yoga called the Bowspring, which helped me align my posture and movement after injury, towards an alignment that truly worked for me. I discovered the fascinating practice of Qigong, which taught me how to connect with my subtle body and cultivate energy with clarity and intention. The concept of energy was new to me and profoundly impactful as I gained skill in cultivating and crafting my energetic awareness.

I learned that food was medicine, or poison and started experimenting with nutrition in ways that shifted my world in big ways.

In 2013, I discovered the Wim Hof Method, and everything changed again. The breathing and mindset practices became tools for regulating my emotions, settling my mind, and connecting more deeply with my internal-self. The cold taught me resilience, courage, and how to meet discomfort with presence instead of resistance. The WHM helped me uncover deeper long-lost connections to myself - which taught me my sensitivity was in fact a super power and not the curse I believed it to be. It allowed me to connect with my nervous/immune systems in ways I didn’t think were possible. The results have been nothing short of profound.

Over the years, I have been both practitioner and facilitator of the practices I call “the healing arts.” I became a licensed massage therapist, a Gene Keys guide, and a certified early childhood educator, as a result of my healing explorations and passion for learning how we develop, adapt, and grow from our earliest years onward.

For me, it wasn’t about collecting certifications, or seeking good things.. It was survival. I’ve been to the depths: anxiety, depression, substance abuse, emotional dysregulation, physical pain, and the feeling of being completely stuck, lost and miserable.

These practices — and the community around them — pulled me back into the light.

Today, I am pain-free, sober because I want to be, awake to beauty, grounded in gratitude, and still very much human — learning to love my wholeness, my faults, and my path with love and compassion for myself.

I can look back on my accident now and see it for what it was: the beginning of a journey that has led me here — with a heart full of gratitude and an overflowing toolbox for helping others on their own healing paths.

How we nourish ourselves is how we live.

Purelee is my feeling-based approach to food — rooted in awareness, vitality, and connection.

At workshops and retreats, I provide tailored meals that meet you where you are, with a focus on real, nourishing foods that help you feel lighter, clearer, and more alive.

Through recipes, tips, and reflections in my Journal, I share how to create a relationship with food that supports healing — not through rigid rules, but through feeling, connection and awareness.

What does it take to be a happy, healthy human?

That’s the question that drives my work.

Lovelee is the heart of my practice — what I love to call Human 101. Over the past two decades, I’ve studied, practiced, and facilitated healing modalities that help us return to our natural state of balance: Stillness, Movement, and Presence.

Whether it’s through breath-work, yoga, Qigong, somatic explorations, meditation, or guided contemplation (like the Gene Keys), Lovelee offers tools to help you meet life with clarity, resilience, and compassion (for Self and others).

Healing happens best when we step away from the noise.

Camplee is my 50-acre retreat space in East Texas, surrounded by national forest and home to two lil ponds, a cozy cabin, sauna, soaking tubs, rock circles/fire pits and plenty of wide-open land and sky.

Here, we host public and private retreats, team-building experiences, and intimate group gatherings.

Guests can book vacation stays, attend one of my facilitated retreats, or bring their own group — with the option of Purelee-catered meals and Lovelee-guided practices to create a fully supported healing experience.

💎Why I Do This..

Healing is tender, courageous, and often nonlinear. These practices have held me through my deepest pain and my most profound transformations — and I’ve witnessed them do the same for others. The state of the world most often suggests what we need the most is healing. I believe healing is available and possible for everyone. I believe when we take accountability for our health and healing we heal the world. We are all in this together and I believe a happy healthy peaceful world is possible. I look forward to healing my hurts. Lets bring the healing home.

Whether you’re carrying stress, pain, or simply longing to feel more alive, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
